NDS - INTRODUCTION

Development Society (NDS) is a non-profit,
non-governmental organization of civil society and
registered under the Societies Act 1860. NDS was
established in 1998 by a group of senior men and women
political and human rights activists of the Shahdadkot
Sindh, in order to achieve goal of socio-economic
justice for the disadvantaged social groups of the
country by undertaking integrated awareness raising,
advocacy and development initiatives. NDS has adopted an
integrated right based approach to achieve own goal. At
present, it is working with Action Aid Pakistan, Oxfam
GB, UNICEF, World Food Program WFP), Premier Urgence (PU),
Pirbhat Woman Development Society, Democratic Commission
for Human Development (DCHD), Shirkat Gah and Sindh
Education Foundation (SEF) in human rights, gender, VAW,
governance, community nutrition, health, emergencies,
youth, education and literacy sectors.
NDS is also working as a Development Area Partner
Organizations of Action Aid - Pakistan since 2006. Its
DA 24 area comprises 32 villages and 4 Union Councils
namely Bago Daro, Hazzar Wah, Jamali and Qubo Saeed Khan
of taluka Shahddkot & Qubo Saeed Khan. The organization
has integrated rights based approach doing much of its
work through campaign, advocacy, capacity building and
research and community development initiatives. |
